Kalecgos has asked you to defeat Kael'thas in Magisters' Terrace. You are to take Kael's head and report back to Larethor at the Shattered Sun Staging Area.

Description

Welcome to the Sunwell, mortals. Your arrival is indeed timely.

As you've now witnessed, the Legion forces work tirelessly, manipulating the Sunwell's power to achieve their malevolent ends.

Kael'thas has risen from the ashes of defeat and once more leads them in their efforts. Find him, mortals. He must again be stopped.

Other, equally urgent matters require my immediate attention. I shall leave Kael's fate to you. Do not fail.

With luck, we shall speak again.

As is probably inherant in the quest objective, you need to kill Kael'thas Sunstrider (The version of him inside the Magisters' Terrace NOT his appearence inside Tempest Keep). The [Head of Kael'thas] drops for everyone who is on this quest, not one per kill.

Kael'thas Sunstrider is the last boss inside of the Magister's Terrace (Link »). As such he is perticularly difficult, and has several tricks to him. Just as the name suggests, he is hard to kill.

Tactics that have been suggested involve trying to equipt yourself with + Arcane Resistant gear. In the fight itself, whenever Kael takes to a kneeling position focus your DPS on him as heavily as ou can, because he should take extra damage while he maintains this stance.

When he summons a pheonix to assist him, get one of your ranged party members to kite it. It moves slowly, making it easy to outrun and keep ahead of. When it dies and turns into an egg kill it ASAP with all that you can muster, then retun your focus to Kael.

During the fight you may find yourself beind cast into the air by a spell of Kael's, try and avoid the bubbles as they deal quite a bit of damage to you (sounds bizzare but trust me on this, you'll want to be aware of that danger). During this flying sequence, it is a good opportunity to hit Kael hard, if you can keep yourself safe that is.

This is certainly not a quest for anyone but heavily geared-up full 70 groups right now, and those that have a lot of patience to learn all the tricks with this engagement.

Return to Exarch Larethor in truimph for your reward. Certainly no idle achievement.
