How to Improve an Existing Product


You might have a niche marketing site that just is not generating sales for you at the pace at which you had hoped it might…. .or maybe it isn’t generating any income for you at all or it could be that you have not actually figured out that what you are selling is, in actuality, a niche market product. You may need to do a little ‘tweaking’ and alter your strategies somewhat to get the website performing better. There really are a few things that you could do to improve your existing product.

Measure #1:

Bill Cosby, the famed entertainer, once explained, “I don’t understand what the secret of success is, but I understand the secret of failure and that has been trying to please everybody.” He had been perfect. You can’t please everyone and you can’t sell to everybody. It’s possible you might just have to narrow your market, identify your product for a niche advertising merchandise and advertise it so.

Measure #2:

To boost the existing product you have probably overlooked the most obvious solution of all. You can simply ask your clients what they believe. They are, after all, the end users of this product or service that you are selling. There is nobody that knows how a product could be enhanced better than the people that are using the product.

Measure #3:

Analyze the competition. Take the time and put forth the effort to examine the product or service your competitors are offering. Identify their strengths and weaknesses. Learn what your competition can’t, will not or does not really like to perform and set about doing those very things yourself.

Measure #4:

Are you selling your goods at the perfect cost? Pricing a product too low makes people think it won’t be any great, pricing too high will dissuade them from purchasing it.
